Do I have to remove that big metal THING next to the engine to remove the spark plugs?

Anyone got a walkthrough for me?

Or pics, and tips?

follow the spark plug wires and they will lead you to the spark plugs.

No, I suggest looking in the glove box or possibly near the spare tire. If they are not in any of those places just follow the turn signal fluid return line to the secret hiding spot for mazda spark plugs.

I think i just pee'd a little. Thats funny stuff.

I wrote a How-to a while back heres the link:

How I got to them when I did it, was pull the wheel and the wheel well. From there you should have decent, not great but decent, access to them. On the 04 there are some vacuum lines that connect on the wheel well, if your has them too, make sure you get them connected back up when you are done.

While pokeing fun at the job, that's pretty much the best way to do it unless your eyeballs are on stalks. If you use neverseize on the screws/bolts that you take out it will make any repeat at a later time a lot easier. It also doesn't hurt to take pic's of the dismantling so you will know what goes where when you're healed enough to put it back together
A 'wobblie' will make the job a lot less painful.
Now I have to go back out and recharge my electrical system with smoke since I just found some leaking from under my seat.

A buddy of mine and I changed the spark plugs.. We got all done, the passenger side was the easiest.

So we were all hyped about getting the passenger side done faster then the drivers side when we realized we had a new spark plug left. Well.. no biggie, we went back to the one we changed the fastest and realized we just replaced the wiring.. LOL

Removing the passenger tire probabbly would of helped.

Thanks for the info guys!!

Oh, and the hidden spot for the mazda spark plugs is in the _/|-_\--\/-- aggghhh!!

While you're at it a check of the smoke pressure in the wireing not be too far out of order. I've had leaks more than once... Lucas was notorious with their systems, they seemed to leak everywhere, so I tried to be home before dark. Needed lights the next morning.
