Starter Wiring

hi this has been at the back of my mind but the wiring to my starter was worked on idk by who but they left a label on it could I wire a switch to? In short; cut wire and put switch.
what will happen if they try to steal with the switch on?

Not sure what year you have so not sure on how the starter system is wired

But Ford added a second starter relay for the anti-theft system, and that is similar to an on/off switch, between key switch and starter motor, so no different than what you are talking about, so fine to do that.

If you leave switch on it just takes away that security feature, doesn't drain battery or hurt anything
