truck got broken into

well it looks like they jammed a flathead into the locks and pried them open. Where do i even begin to fix this? the locks are ruined and my door panel itself has some damage to it.

Ouch, that really sucks. Maybe best bet for you is to get some quotes from a body shop, I don't have any experience with break ins so I can't really help you. I do hope you catch the guys that did this.

Check the junkyard for a new door and then get it painted. Any chance you can swap the door lock over or is it too damaged?

Take it to a body shop and see how much it would cost to get the locks shaved if you have auto locks.... You wont have to worry about it again... Just an idea

Yeah insurance fraud is a good idea. Did you miss the part where he said he has $1000 deductible? lol

Exactly, go do more damage to where they MIGHT cover it, and end up paying 1k.

Go to a shop, maybe 3-400bucks for a new door skin , max.

1k ded is pretty high. i have a 500 ded so its a bit diff. btw im not advocating ins frau by anymeans... just sayin get a lil something for all those years that you pay for it.. i mena think about it. its down now to 160 a month at 24. but at 16 it was around 250 a month.. sooo lets do the math.. @ an average of 200 a month for 8 years thats approx 19k ive paid in insurance...with no claims ever. So back to my point. get backa little something for what you pay for.

So you still think like a 16 year old if you are advocating insurance fraud.
I hate insurance as much as you do, also with zero claims at 24 years old. I never paid anywhere near $250/mo so maybe you should look at another insurance company.
I pay less than $200/mo for my 06 F150 and my wife's 08 Legacy GT, full coverage with a $500 deductible and higher than standard coverages.
Back to my point, it is still insurance fraud. Insurance fraud is largely the reason we all pay so much, because people lie cheat and steal from the companies so everyone's rates go up.

Also if you cannot afford $1000, you should lower your deductible. That is why there is an option to do that.

Remember, if you have to change out your locks, get a complete lockset and change the ignition and tailgate too.
