Unknown noise...possibly rack and pinion

I'm experiencing a strange noise/vibration in my front left tire well. It's a clunking/creaking noise that occurs on certain road surfaces, turning, starting and stopping....pretty much while I'm moving ha. I can feel it in my steering wheel as well. I thought that it might be the sway bar bushings because there was some slop in them but it's not.

I and hold onto the rack and pinion shaft and shake the truck and feel the same sensation as I do in the steering wheel.

Any ideas what it could be?

Thanks!

I had the same thing sort of. It sounded like a clicking or grinding and i felt vibrations in the steering wheel. It ended up being the rack and pinion. If you have someone turn the steering wheel, feel the tie rod ends and you might feel it vibrating. it cost be like $400 to have a new rack installed
