New here and just got a 2003 ranger with the 2.3 dohc. I have been trouble shooting a few things and down to just a couple things now. I have a vacuum hose that is melted at one end and I can not figure out where it should be connected. I think it has to do with the heating and vent flaps. I got the fan blower working after replacing the heater resistor and a fuse. But the heat and AC only comes out of the defrost vents. I have been searching and reading for a few days but can not locate info.

I am current getting codes P0171 and now a new one popped up P0141.

So far I have replaced both 02 sensors, cleaned the MAF sensor with MAF cleaner.

Here is pictures of the end of the melted tube. I think it came into contact with the exhaust manifold somehow and melted. The other picture of where it hooks up to the the drives side.

 

You should have a black ball (3 inch diameter) bolted to the inside of your passenger fender well guard. Thats what that connects to.
