Icon2 Who wants a free HID style LED Dome light for thier ranger????

I made this LED dome light from 2 HID style white LEDs. It should go into any ranger that has the standard rectangle shape dome light. I have a 2004 ranger and here is a picture of it in my truck.

PICT2083.jpg?t=1199587238

The picture is from my palm pilot, the color is a very blueish white and it makes the interior look really cool when it is on. The LED's I used have multiple ones on each bulb (so It is bright, and it does not get hot when its on)

The reason I am getting rid of it is I have a new idea of something I want to do with my dome light, but I need a new dome light to make it work. I have been using this one since November and it works perfect since when I built it from the stock one.

I'm asking that if anyone want it they simply mail me their stock domelight so I can make my new one. I have a really cool idea that I want to try. - You trade me your stock domelight, I'll give you this one in return... the only cost is the shipping you have to pay to send yours out.....

I bought some Multi-LED bulbs on the internet and wired them in parallel. Its very easy to install... If you have a Factory in good-shape stock dome light we can trade... I'm waiting for someone to seal a deal with me... I am going to make something even better next...

I have a stock one that we could trade for. I could probably get you 2 others too if you wanted.

It would have to wait a week or 2 because I am out of town for the next week.

Yeah I can send you mine, let me make sure I know where it is tomorrow but it should be on the table in the garage. I also have a Explorer dome light but one of the map light switches is broken. I can send you both if you want, I don't have any use for them.

Bumpncarstereo said he would ship his out monday, so he's got first dibs... However if anyone wants me to make one for them I don't mind. If for some reason he dosent ship it out Monday then I'll take yours blackedge. I am also making one for my Evo that is going to be even better. I have 3 map lights and one dome light in my car, its going to be great.

As long as the cost of the parts is included I dont mind, the first one took me like 3 hours because I didnt know how I wanted to do it, but now I have it down pat.

Oh yeah I'd defn make sure the parts were included. The bulbs are 212-2 I think, do you know of any direct swap in LED bulbs for those?

This is not how I do it... I take out the bulbs and hardwire in housings that will hold the biggest bulbs with as many LED's as I possibly can. If you want to be cheaper I can go with less LED's, but when it comes to my truck (or my evo) I always buy the brightest, regardless of cost. (I just spent 80$ on LED's for the inside of my evo, and my reverse lights for my evo)

I was just outside measuring something to see what bulbs to buy, I notice when its pitch black outside and I put my truck in reverse, the reverse lights on my tail lights light up so bright that it throws a huge light across the garage and I can see the shadow of the wing on my evo on the wall. I love these tail lights!
