window cranks

first off, not sure if this is the right forum so correct me if i'm wrong, it just seemed best to me.

question: do the manual window cranks have to come off when taking off the door panel? if so do they just pull off or what? i'm trying to replace my mirrors and i know the door panels must come off, just not sure what all that takes.

thanks,

tripp

Yes the cranks must be pulled. Theres 2 screws holding the handle and surround, 1 screw towards the bottom, then 1 under the handle/surround and pull the whole panel up and it will come off.

To remove the crank handle...Position it so the grab handle (****) is at the bottom or 6 o'clock position. Using a flat blade screw driver, insert the tip of the blade just behind the back of the crank at the top or 12 o'clock position just catching the plastic edge of the outer cover and pry it off. Once it pops you can rotate it out of the way and see the screw that needs to be removed.

Do it just like Rev said, pop the cover off and then you can see it, but its a torx screw in the handle not a regular screw. Theres a picture of the cover off of the handle in the link below.
