Wiring short
Wiring short
I have a 94 ranger 4.0 and it seems to be a short in the electrical.
my turn signals only work if i dont put the truck into reverse.
If i put the truck in reverse the turn signals go immediately off and the fuse is blown.
Im no electrician or mechanic, however i can get relatively simple things done.
any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I'm with ya... I am no Electrican, but I had a similar situation in my Wife's '99 Ranger.
Not to bore you, I replace the Multi-function Switch (MFS), inside of the steering column, fixed it !
This Switch, handles the directionals, brakes, and flashers, maybe more for all I know, so if the brakes are interacting with the directionals, the commons point sounds like the MFS.
Not bad to replace, more time consuming than anything else.
If you get there, the connector is towards the dash side of the switch, and it is a little fragile.
I also had '95 Ranger where the directionals would and then wouldn't work, intermittently, I traced it to the MFS, the connector had broken and one pin would not stay inserted... the fix... after double checking that holding the pin in place would fix the problem, I used a few wire ties, held it all together, when I sold the truck two years later all was good.
I mentioned the fix to the buyer, all he said was is it working now... OK to go !
Good Luck with the fix, take your time don't rush removal of the connector, Do It Right The First Time !

How the heck did you even find this out, lol
I don't think I ever had my turn signals on when in Reverse :)
Automatic or Manual trans?
I ask because with an automatic your foot is on the Brake when you shift into Reverse, so Brake Lights are also in play
So the turn signals at ALL 4 corners work fine, when not in Reverse, none are dimmer or brighter?
And both Reverse lights work fine, if turn signals are not on?
