Just watch it whipping into the cab and rubbing the paint. Also try the search function at the top there were a few threads like this before so you should be able to find some pics to go with what your looking for.

i have a whip on the roof of my ext cab. I ran the cable above the head liner and out the 3rd brake light. I have a Wilson "Little Wil" with a magnet mount and I am very pleased with it. I tried putting an antenna on the bed at first, but the roof mount is a better placement.

If you look at my car domain site, there are OLD pics posted. I have changed a lot since those pics.

I have many antennas for gps, ham radio and also CB.

I mounted stainless steel ball mounts on the fenders behind each rear wheel. One of them for long range ham radio (HF) and one is for CB.

I also have two antennas permanently mounted on the roof (one GPS "dome" and one VHF whip) which means I'm not adverse to drilling holes, lol.

I also have a glass mount whip which is part of my position reporting system on the rear window.

I HIGHLY recommend some kind of "hard mount" and no mag mounts. Winks had terrible times keeping his CB antenna on the roof last weekend when we offroaded in the pine barrens.

They work pretty good from what I've seen, and no drilling.

I drilled a hole in my bumper on the left rear.

I just got a stakehole mount, haven't installed it yet.. Neil, did you drill a hole in the bed somewhere to run the cable, or did you go around the horn under the bed? I haven't decided how permanently I'm going to put my stakehole mount in.. I definitely can't keep the antenna up (4' Firestik,) its taller than my garage roof, to say nothing about clearing the door!

Also, have you noticed any problems from the angle the antenna is at? I was thinking of using some type of rubber to "shim" it so that the antenna is closer to vertical.

Any place that sells Firestik accessories should carry it.

I really like Neils setup, I would do that but I have bed rail covers that I like, I use a magnetic mount, I either stick it to the bottom/floor of the bed when I have the bed cover open, or stick it to the cab and just lay it in the bed, works vertical and horizontal equally good.

Hello, Niel?

I tried to shim mine to stand up straighter, but the lower mounting plate still pulls it out at that angle, so I'm going to yank the shims and let it point out like yours.
