speedo problems
Hey, so my 2001 ranger edge is starting to freak out a little. The speedometer, when stopped will read any were between 15 and 30 mph. As soon as i begin to roll however, the speedo will go right back to normal. Is this an issue with the speedo sensor, or what. Also how can i test this, I am not new to any of this and i mean i know with all electrical sensors like this have a range of resistance or something like it i can test with my multimeter, i just have no clue what it is. If i am completely of let me know i want to get this resolved asap. Thank you

the power wire doesnt have a good enough connection from the alternator at the battery. mine did it before. just cheange out your terminals and youll be fine. when the cable doesnt have a good enough connection it will throw the voltage reading off. and cause the speedo to jump when stopped

Marine parts are normally made of much higher quality than auto parts. That's because of all the salt air and water. You may have just been buying the cheap stuff from autozone or the like???
