07' Ranger 60/40 to bucket seats and cleaning em
Shane told me to mod my 07' 60/40 seats to bucket seats and said to search on here. I searched through the first 3 pages and didn't find anything that will help me much. (I know I can search better but had another question so thought i'd just make a post bout both) So how do I mod the drivers seat to a bucket seat and make it look good? I heard the 04' and up is a different shape or something I believe? Any threads on the 04' and up mod? pics? Also, my seats are the cloth material that's black with a grey middle throughout the seat. I work on automotive stuff a lot so the grey part is getting small grease and dirt stains. How do I get it out without fading the grey so it looks new again? Also there are a couple areas on my grey cloth headliner area (where the oh **** handle is above you) and they are small grease stains. How do I get those out? I haven't tried to clean this stuff yet because I don't want to use the wrong cleaner but whats a good way to clean this stuff and what chemicals? It would be nice to use a common chemical so I don't have to run all over town looking for the stuff.
thanks!!!
thanks!!!
Its really easy, when you unsnap the material and pull it back you'll see a mark in the foam and you just cut it there. Then just pull the material back over taught and secure it. I've done 2 so far with no problems. You have to cut part of the metal bracket off but thats no problem with a sawzall.

Thanks for the pics... wish the first few were clear pics but it gives me an idea what it will look like. Looks good though!
Yeah they're cell pics at night. I used zip ties to hold mine together, you cant tell with the console in. Theres a little pocket where the material is folded over which is great to stash drugs in and stuff. lol jk
I think it came out of a 99 Expo that someone was parting out on this site. I got it for like 50 bucks. It was orginally gray with this terrible red hawaiian print armrest cover on it that I repainted and recovered. Looks great now, I love it.

How hard was it to take the covers off and put them on? Run into any problems? Have any advice? My seats can use a good cleaning.
Try the Turtle Wax Ice for vinyl and leather to get the stains out. If that doesn't work try some Dawn dishwasher liquid and a soft cloth. Dawn works great in your laundry too but don't put too much in, it bubbles. O.O
what's that supposed to mean? lol.
we were txting eachother. i was at work. jeeze. lol.
Cory...I had my new seats detailed for me since i bought them from a junkyard and they still are really clean. I'd steam clean yours or something similar like. On the cloth on your door panel, they clean up really really nice using simple green and a scrub brush, but that might not be the right way to clean seat upholstery...idk.
Trevor knows of a junkyard down there in Corvallis for cheap parts...they've got a few explorers out there for the center console. Tre got his Expo Leather buckets from there.
I took this of my old old seats to post in threads like these...check the green tape line...that's where you cut, then roll the excess fabric over and velcro it or stitch it up to make her all clean...
