What's in your '99 Ranger now ?

I am not absolute on this but I think there re wiring changes needed to make some of the accessories gauges to work properly.
I don't think it is a lot os work to change the connections but it is more "Knowing which wires do what" !

i believe its just the stock cluster in my 99 ranger the only additional gauge is the tachometer which is why i kinda want to swap them, my girlfriends dad has a 97 explorer i wanna pull some stuff off, maybe the seats but would like to get this cluster and possibly change some colors on the lights

Doesn't your have the Tach in it already ?
Just my opinion but I would get one for 98 up that has what you want or find an electrical guy RON, who might give some insight to the wiring.

The seats will work if you have an Extended Cab, the Stand Cab is too short and first requires mods to the seat track but also the room they take up leave less than stock area for you to fit your legs under the steering wheel.

Overall... I would pull the Cluster, the seats and the Consoles, Floor and Overhead, to start, get all of the wiring you can, it will make hook up a little easier or if you sell them adds to the package. If the Ex has all electric windows and locks, get the door window switches both sides and the mirror switch; again get wiring, at least out the door but pull as much as you can.

Search the Site, I believe we have talked about the Cluster Wiring a number of time.
Good Luck, take your time, get as much wire as possible.

Was thinking about what you/I intended to do...

I was not sure how I am was going, either a gauge cluster from a '95, speed-O only and new faces for the gauges in RED, or a Digital Cluster setup with separate gauges.
I read about the wiring changes needed to go from the '03 "Tach and Speed-O" to the '95 "Speed-O Only" (reverse of what you want to do) but never marked the pages, but I believe the Thread is still here.
I ended up planning for, but not doing yet, the Speed-O Only Version and put the Classic Tach on the dash in the left had corner. I figured there would be enough wiring changes in just the Cluster so why worry about the Tach in the cluster too.

I believe it would be easier in the long run to get a Tach with Mounting Cup and mount the Tach to the dash.

I will SEARCH the Site and see if I can come across the thread about the install.

You can install a white gauge from a 01 ford explorer. It's plug in play for ford rangers after 98. I have one I'm about to install.
