I just bought a '94 ex-cab with buckets and the center console. I asked the seller about the console and he said it was broken, that's why it was moving around.
I took the thing apart expecting to find broken plastic, arm rest destroyed, you name it. I was happy that the entire console was in excellent shape. BUT... (you knew this was coming) the aluminum mount
Mine is on the left and the new/used one I picked up today on the right. I think the new one will be a little better.

 

Reckon they were having wild sex in the cab to break that.
