99 XLT steering wheel question

My Ranger has cruise control but the tops of the pads are busted which leaves the electrical parts exposed. It is tilt wheel also. I have a 2002 Explorer which is also tilt and cruise. Can I remove just the cruise control parts and if not, can I switch the steering wheels?

And if I can switch just the cruise control parts, can I just get some from a JY? Hoping to use my Explorer frame for my brother's 2002 std cab Ranger so he will have a 4WD. His Ranger is longer WB than Explorer.

update

Found new OEM pods on Ebay for about same price as JY wanted for ones around here. Looked in every JY local & no one had pods that didn't have cracks or missing parts. Airbag has to be removed to replace pods but easier for me than swapping the whole wheel.

Did exactly that on my '99, but found them on Amazon for around $20. Link here:

.
And even though the new kit came with wiring, I just unplugged the old ones
and plugged the news ones in. If I remember, to replace the wiring requires removal of the steering wheel.
And a word of caution. When you reinstall the air bag, don't over tighten the screws as that will cause the horn to
constantly blow.
