? about jumpseats?

I've looked around and couldn't really find what i was looking for so i will ask. I have an extended cab 2 door without the jumpseats. I just have the pockets. What all is needed to add the jumpseats to the truck or will it even work? Thanks for any help....

You need the correct 2 door jump seats, plastics and seat belts. I wanted to do the same but in the end I didn't see a point.

I got a 06 FX4, 4 door. so if your talking about the 2 back seats that you flip down and then the seat up, i removed those a long time ago and are just sitting in the attic. If you want to buy those (if they fit) i would put them up for sale. (seat belt included)
I can go find them and take a picture later if you want.

I talked about this to Bob. 4 door seats would not work since the weld nuts aren't there for the bolts. You could lift the cab to install your own nuts but do you feel like lifting the cab?

Jump seats suck in the Rangers. The four door ones are a pain, the two door ones were impossible. I've ripped every set out and replaced them with a 12v cooler (hey, the beer's gotta stay cold!) and a storage tote on the other side, the center gap for storage. The two door cab was so bad that I had to unbolt the seats and remove them to install or remove the tote or cooler.

I hadn't even made the first payment on my current '09 and the jumpseats were removed (I think I had the truck home 3 or 4 hours before they were gone). I chucked them in the cab of my '93 I scrapped and they're probably in China right now being melted down, or already on their way back blended somewhere in a Hyundai.. I have one passenger seat, anyone else is free to ride in the camper and sample the complementary cold bevvies for the ride LR

the seats are pointless man. you're better off doing like somebody else said and leaving a little cooler or a bucket back there.

Yeah they are ok. When you open the cubby there is a plastic tray. If you take the tray out you have room underneath it to put stuff as well. On the passenger side the jack is under the tray.

Hello,

I just put the jump seats into a 2000 Ranger two door extra cab. I wasn't crazy about doing this but I have had a couple of times recently when I have had to drive with three of us in the cab and just because there is a middle seat belt doesn't mean three guys can park their fat asses in the cab. Man, that is tight. Anyway, I bought them at a junkyard out of recent arrival that looked close in years to my 2000. The external cover was a perfect match and the seat cloth is a little off in color but wtf. Thye looked like they had never been used which I suspect is the fate of most of these jump seats. They bolted right in, five bolts on each seat and a torx bolt for one end of the seat belt. Nothing to it. In retrospect, one would have been enough since you can only reasonably fit one adult back there long wise or two kids if you have them.

Good luck.

Rick

Yep. Just don't drive across the country and expect your wife, your best buddy, or even your mother-in-law to sit back there for the ride.....maybe the dog, but that's about it.....It would be better than going three wide, though :o)

Happy Holidays

Rick

So I finally rode in the back of a Ranger with jump seats. Ummmmmm yeah. You don't want the seats. Completely useless for anything other than midgets.

I dunno what you all are talking about.. I've had two adults in the back, on the jumper seats, for a 8 hour trip. One even fell asleep on them. We stopped twice, went for an hour and a half the first time, then 4 the next, then finished the trip on the last leg.

-edit-

Of course I threatened them with the fact of finding another ride if they complained.
Heh.

jump seats are the biggest joke. i was very dissappointed when i went to test drive my 08 to find em in there, since the online window sticker didnt mention em. first thing i did was yank em out. id rather have the extra storage room. dont know why ford never developed a crew cab ranger. unless the lame-*** sport track is supposed to fill that void.
