AfterMarket Gauges Location Sticky

What do you guys put when you do the pillar mod. Like trans temp, water and stuff like that. Been wanting to do just dont know what to put there.

jrpro130 02-15-2007 08:49 PM

I have oil press and trans temp.

IMO the two most imp things in my truck.

You could also do water temp, but you have a stock gauge for that...and you could do EGT if you want to get fancy (if you run forced induction)

Desert Racer 02-15-2007 08:57 PM

I am going to do the trans one. The oil pressure wouldn't be bad either. What are the other things you have to worry about? Also do the make a pillar for 3 gauges? (Trans temp, motortemp and water temp)

ScottG 02-15-2007 09:02 PM

i had water temp (engine) and air fuel

on my trac, im running a steering column pod with a trans temp

Desert Racer 02-15-2007 09:04 PM

Just so many options and limited space.

04lvl2 02-15-2007 09:05 PM

I am running oil pressure and volts on the pillar, both of which are not in the 04+ cluster. Water temp is on the column in a mustang column gauge pod.

Desert Racer 02-15-2007 09:07 PM

I think i will do trans for sure and see what other one I may need or want.

limited space?

modify a 1pod and 2pod pillars into a 3pod pillar
1pod column
Custom Radio bezel 3-4 guages depending on size
Custom Center Console with 4-6 gauges depending on console

You can also replace all the gauges on the dash with aftermarket guages (so you run what you want)

You can make an overhead console that holds guages

You can put a guage where the vent is next to the headlight switch

So, you can run EVERY style guage they make, if your pocketbook is big enough

Let me know if you want pics of any of those too

I have my pod housing the Boost and Air/Fuel guage.... though my truck is a *little* different than most on here. :)

ScottG 02-15-2007 09:19 PM
