Another question on the overhead console
i was wondering if you had to have any certian accesories to install one properly because my uncle works at a junk yard and has a couple for me but i didnt know if one would work in my truck
I put one in my daughters stripped down, former commercial XL model. Had an AM/FM radio only, power NOTHING -- really stripped. No problem and it still works great. Hers was a 98 so very similar to yours.
I actually just did mine a couple days ago...FINALLY..after having it sitting in a box for 6 months. Its really not hard at all. Once you start cutting/drilling the uneasy feeling goes away and you just want to get it done. I followed Grigg's how-to and worked flawlessly. Just read through it a couple times before you get started and it's cake. Good luck and you'll be glad you did it, until you're driving circles in a church parking lot to cailbrate the compass and everybody feels the need to stare lol.
