Another question on the overhead console

i was wondering if you had to have any certian accesories to install one properly because my uncle works at a junk yard and has a couple for me but i didnt know if one would work in my truck

Nope, you can do it on a completely stock truck. All you need is the OHC, mounting bracket, pigtail and the temp sensor.

I put one in my daughters stripped down, former commercial XL model. Had an AM/FM radio only, power NOTHING -- really stripped. No problem and it still works great. Hers was a 98 so very similar to yours.

I actually just did mine a couple days ago...FINALLY..after having it sitting in a box for 6 months. Its really not hard at all. Once you start cutting/drilling the uneasy feeling goes away and you just want to get it done. I followed Grigg's how-to and worked flawlessly. Just read through it a couple times before you get started and it's cake. Good luck and you'll be glad you did it, until you're driving circles in a church parking lot to cailbrate the compass and everybody feels the need to stare lol.

lol you should of just done donuts and put on a show if they were already looking.

Did it in the YMCA parking lot and got the same looks, lol.

Did my calibration near a bank, not a good idea when the Armored car comes for delivery/pick-up!
