Question...did you guys use the metal piece that goes under the console? i recollect some people saying that they didnt mount it to the floor so was wondering if they still had the metal bracket in.
Thanks!

I'm in the same boat. Someone made their own bracket and said its easy to make and install. The mount for Xplorers is no where on ebay

Some people do use i, most people say that it is so snug that it's not needed. try the easy way first.

Dang, should have let you check mine out the other day.

Mounted two screws in the front where it mounts to the dash, took a little muscle to lign the holes/pins up but it worked. Two self-tappers in the middle(thing this is the metal area you are talking about), and then I added two bolts to the back. The bolts go through the floorboard and have nuts and washers on the underside of the truck.
