It has been a month but how is this going ?
What year Truck ?
Std Cab vs Ext Cab ?
I found when I did the 60/40 to 40/40 seating in my '03Std Cab EDGE, that the 40 % of the 60/40 is a std Bucket Seat, the Driver's Side Seat, the 60%, needs some work.
Trick I found was in the Seat Pans, in my '03 the Seat Track unbolted from the Seat Pan, made things a lot easier.
We need to know answers to the above questions and have you looked to see how the Driver's Side Seat is bolted in and how the track is bolted to the Seat Pan ?
Sorry that no one posted to your question, not like this Forum !
If you are still in the planning mode...answer the questions !
One more thing, add a signature to your Profile, it will appear on the lower part of your posting page and people will know wht vehicle you have and then they can respond to your questions.

The biggest irritation is when the answer has ben posted on the site before and they have answered the same questions over and over; to me I don't care one way or the other, there are times when you can't find what you are looking for, ask me how I know, and you just need to ask.
Standard Cab, unless you are on the smaller side, it will be tight for the Explorer Seats, might not be the best approach.
Did the Cabs increase in size in '99, I'm thinking 2001 ?
Have you considered standard Ranger Bucket Seats ? The Passenger side is a standard bucket seat, all you need is to replace the drivers side and you have a set of bucket seats, and then you need to get matching seat covers.
If your seat tracks bolts to the seat pan, then you might be in for a lot easier ride with standard bucket seats, because I do not think the Explorer Seats have bolt on tracks.
Also, IF, you don't care about a Lumbar Support, then you COULD use a passenger side bucket seat in place of the driver's side 60% seat by just swapping tracks; just something to think about. I found the Seat Pans, have all of the holes needed for mounting the seat on either side.
The JY has seats, you will need to start searching, and just maybe !
Take your time and do it right the first time.

Good to know you will be looking for Ranger Buckets, remember if the fabric matches your truck, you only really need the Driver's seat.
Good Luck on the search !
