Buzzing noise from the dash!

Well my truck has a "buzzing" noise coming from the dash area on the passenger side which is VERY annoying when driving. It sounds identical to a bee. It usually only occurs during acceleration, when I let up on the gas it will go away. It's definitely coming from inside the car and behind the dash. I removed the glove-box in hopes that was it, but the noise still exists.

UPDATE: The noise is only present when the fan/heater is turned on. If I turn off the fan then the noise will go away. I'm sure this narrows it down, but I'm still unsure exactly what part would be causing it...

I know in my 97...(only because theres no airbag in it anymore) the airbag light stays on all the time so i tried taking the bulb out but then the computer starts buzzing at me when the truck is running....maybe you have a burnt out bulb in your gauges that could be for something important. not too sure of anything else it could be..

Mine also buzzes under acceleration, but it will only do that if I have crusie control on and it's accelerating using crusie control. If I'm going uphill and the truck needs more gas to keep the constant speed it will buzz, same thing if I'm click it up a few MPH. Sounds just like a bee, but my sound is coming from the drivers side behind the dash.

The piece of black plastic trim at the front of the dash, rattles on mine. Just a tiny bit, but it sounds like what you're having. If I put my fingers on it, the rattle or buzz goes away.

My cruise buzzes to. I'm guessing the circuit has more then likely a relay or circuit breaker that's buzzing..I haven't looked at a diagram

I'm getting the "bee" buzz noise in my dash now, but it doesn't seem to matter if cruise or blower is being used. Just seems to have a faint metallic rattle about all the time at low speeds, around 2,000 rpm - seems to be coming from lower center of dash. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm thinking it's the little cubbyhole mounted to the lower center of the dash. Held on with three screws and two were a little loose.

Same here. Haven't driven truck yet, but only problem I found so far was the center storage piece, 2 screws were loose and where the outer shell snapped onto the base...it didn't fit real tight. I unsnapped the 2 pieces and tried using some epoxy without making too big of a mess - seems to fit a lot tighter now.

I FINALLY found mine!

It's the little metal vacuum valve under the passenger side of the dash. it only buzzes with the heater blower on, and under acceleration like when pulling a hill, turn the blower off, and it goes away, reach under and grab hold of it, and it goes away, I'll check the screws, and tighten, replace with bigger ones, or even replace that valve if need be.

Sorry to reopen this thread. I guess i'm going to dive into my passenger dash next weekend in search of this valve. Wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem/solved it since?

I have exact same symptoms coming from the passenger side dash. Can't seem to stop it my putting pressure with my hand anywhere (such as the airbag cover panel on passenger side). Buzzing noise when blower is on, while at highway speeds and accelerating only.

Drives me nuts because after 4 years it's now getting worse/louder!

My '97 B2300 made a buzzing from under the dash around 2200 RPM I think. Mazda dealership replaced a small metal canister under the dash. Well, that's what they told me ;-). Anyway, a couple of years ago it started back. No longer under warranty, I choose to ignore it. It has since gone away. I was able to look up under the dash and saw the canister, or metal can of some sorts. There is a hose connected to it. Hope this helps someone.
