cb radio

where are you guys mounting your cb's? I want a cb but i cant really dont want super obvious. I would put it under the dash but that cup holder is in the way and i dont want to mount it on the head liner eather. I was thinking maybe in the glove box? What do you guys think. BTW its a 2000 xlt.

i looked at it and there are some nice ones there. I like it when you can mount it in with the radio. Has any one tried to put it in the glove box. I just like how it would be out of site when im not using it.

I havent put mine in yet but when i do, im going to put it behind the seat. i have a reg. cab and im just going to make a braket and attach it to the wall. what brand CB you got?

You could put it in the glove box but you'd have to run a external speaker and put that somewhere. It just isn't really useful in a closed up location like that. Mounting it behind your seat keeps it out of your way but you can still use it with out having to fumble through the glovebox.

Go to Radio Shack or Walmart and get the Cobra 19. Its like 35 bucks and super small.

I spent a little more on mine so I could still have PA but no base unit to get in the way. I have the Cobra 76XRT. The only downside is the ridiculously bright color. You don't have to use the trippy *** magnet mount antenna that comes with if you don't want to.

Hey, check out this thread, i did the same thing with my police scanner in my old chevy and it worked just fine. The only problem i can see is needing an ext. speaker.

hey i mounted my cb in my glove box only down side is i had to cut out some of the backing so i could fit the walkie in but it turn out good
