Changing interior light

Picked up a base 2011 Ranger for my Son and we hate the no frills interior light. We would like to have one that you are able to turn off and on even with the door closed. How hard is it to swap these out, any extra wiring needed and what years will interchange if any? Thanks for any info.

Steve...........

the most common swap is the "mustang" dome light. They're found in super duty trucks, ford taurus, and of course, mustangs. It has 3 bulbs. one in the center which lights up when you open the door and 2 map lights, each of which have their own switch.

You may have to run 1 wire for it on the 2011 but it bolts right in otherwise.
