do they make these? (centerconsole/seat question)

aight i am wondering if anyone here knows if they make a center console that will fit a 2000 ford ranger XLT cab n a half (with 2 bucket seats of coarse).... that can act as a middle seat, and fold down into an armrest that still lets you reach into the back cab? My center console broke + i have a pretty beefy sound system where the back seats used to be... and i dont like the standard center consoles.. so im not sure if they make something like that, or if i should try and fabricate one myself (it doesnt seem like it would be tooo hard to do).

I dont think they make anything like that for bucket seats in a ranger, just the bench 60/40

sounds like you wanna do a 40/20/20 swap.

40/20/40 is roughly the same as a 60/40. except on those seats, the middle one is shorter both ways, where most full size 60/40s are full seats all the way across.

Seat swap......go to the split bench 60/40 from a ranger. It has a small centerconsole that folds down and folds up and allows you to still use it as a seat. And you can reach in the back of the truck if you need to while it's folded down.

somebody post pics...I aint got any of my stock seats.

yupyup. Thanks for posting those Myke.

Any 98+ 60/40 will fit your truck. There's probably a member near you that's willing to trade seats...you are doing the opposite of what people normally do...they swap buckets in. lol.

well that is attached to the seat. So you would have to atleast have to replace the driver seat.

Yes. On a factory bucket truck, there's rubber plugs in the floor that go into the seat belt bolt holes.

You MUST replace at least the drivers seat....the seats are completely different. Where is your passenger gonna sit? On a milk crate on the floor? The console and center seat are built into the driver seat. Check the boneyards out for seats just like yours that you have now....they have them in 60/40 form. I suggest updating both seats.

that is out of a GM, GM has a lot of 40/20/40.

here is a sight that sells them:
Truck Seats Custom Chevy Ford Dodge GMC Truck Seats C5

But yeah, like said above, our seats are too close. Thats why I suggested the ford Taurus setup. I cant find a pic, but I know my friends Taurus has a sweet center console that folds up into a seat.
