If you have a passenger airbag on/off switch where the explorer center console meets the rest of the dash, what do you do with it?

tuck it behind the console, just zip tie it in place. if you need or want the switch you could drill a hole in the side of the console and mount it there

Shawn I am about to do the same mod.... what kinda thread are you going to use to sew the seat back? I think its gotta be something really strong b/c the type of fabric. I was just going to tuck the wire under the console.... I never use it.

i was actually just going to buy the console and wait for a little while and get some eddie bauer or limited leather seats. im a little nervous about getting the wrong shade of grey for my trucks interior. its an 01 and is pretty dark. the console i found looks pretty dark but i may have to tweed some things if need be. no biggie.

im not sure what type of thread you could use. maybe something like fishing line? made from that type of material. im sure if you went to a fabric shop and explained that you needed something strong, they could point you in the right direction. I know they walked through the mod on www.rangerpowersports.com but im not sure if they listed what type of thread they used. a thick type of fishing line might work??

i know there's brackets on the bottom of the console, but what did you use to fasten them to the floor? like, what type of bolts/screws?

alon is correct

to mount the console:
at the very front line the two pins up, you should end up with two screw holes that you add screws in

in the middle in used some self-tapping screws

and in the back i think i used some small bolts

Ok, I saw this thread and I wanted to ask a question. My '98 has an ashtray and the PAB switch together as a unit. On the newer trucks they took out the astray and made a little storage pocket with the PAB switch. I want to get one of those so I can put my emergency light switches in that little cubbie. I went on e-Bay but I don't know what to call it to search. If y'all are taking it out for your consoles I'll buy it off you if it's grey. :)

I just placed mine as such...worked fine without any hassle.

I also have the ashtray/airbag switch cover set up for sale on www.rangerpowersports.com

what the years can i pull the center console out of? is it 1995-2000? Is it just the normal exploder or the eddie bauer? My interior is tan just like Mikes, that looks so clean, but i have a mnual. it makes it look not as nice with a huge shifter boot.

you can pull the console out of a 1995- 2001 explorer.......they will either have the full console or the shorty that only comes to the edge of the seats.
