i kno theres write ups on this all over the place and i have read them my question is were on the explorer is the temperature sensor located i want to make sure when i go the junk yard to grab my ohc i get the temp sensor too... ive seen were everyone is mounting them on the ranger in lower passenger wheel well but is that were its located on the explorer... thanks... also pictures would be greatly appreciated

Wherever it is. Mount yours in the same spot. You don't want engine heat messing up the reading

 

There are some holes in the radiator support/doghouse area of a Ranger to mount the temp sensor in nearly the same spot as it would be on the Explorer. Mine is mounted behind the headlight area, between that and the radiator. Very similar to where it would be on the Explorer it came out of.
