Explorer power windows in Ranger?

OK - most everyone knows an Explorer OHC and lighted visors and autodimmer mirror will transfer easily into Ranger, along with consoles, power seats and such.
With all the CFC Explorers now in the bone yards - does anyone know if power windows from an Explorer will work in a Ranger?

If so - what year Explorer should I look for to grab useable power work stuff to put into my 99 Ranger SuperCab?

Thanks
Lynn in Vancouver

There are rarely any late model Rangers in the yards around me - but there's LOT AND LOTS of Explorers.

You don't need the window, just the motors. Also it's not as simple as swapping the motors in and hooking them up. To do a stock swap you have to replace the dash harness and engine harness with one from a Ranger that had power options.

I was looking to grab principally the motors and other needed/compatible mechanisms etc inside the Explorer door (including whatever inside the door ahrnesses and connectors) were there - and then fab up connections to the rest of the ranger similar to what is done with aftermaket power window conversions kits, including switches etc.

Fundamental question is whether or not the Explorer in-door mechanisms etc are compatible with my 99 Ranger door and in-window mechanicals.

Thanks
