Extended Cab rear panel....4dr vs. 2dr.....????'s

Hey.

I have eliminated my jump seats in my 4dr. I was looking at the JY the other day and it looks as though I can replace my back panel with a 2dr back panel. The 2dr back panels have a net thingy and no jack/handle molded garbage. I'm talking about the piece that fits under the C pillar plastic....directly under the rear window.

Does anybody know if these piece are interchangable?? Reason I want to do this is it's more asthetically pleasing to have the 2dr rear panel.

Thanks

Shane

Oh yea...can yall 2dr folks post pics of the interior rear cab?? That piece with the net that i'm talking about?? Thanks!!

Don't know if it'll work or not, but here's mine. I took the netting off so I could mount the amp. If you need a better pic, let me know.

Yea...yours is the one that i was looking at. I think it's just better looking. I think i'll see how cheap i can get it for at the JY, and see if it'll work.

BTW......who would get excited about the cup holders back there?? Why are there cup holders there anyway....It's not like ford expected people to actually sit back there. lol.

Here's a pic of what I did for mine. Found the same color rear panel as the one I had. Then I hacked out the mounting points for the jack cover/ cup holder and fiberglassed over the open spaces left and covered it all with the somewhat matching carpet I used for the platform. Vi-O-La! Done. Although it does seem easier to use one that would bolt in, but I found this first and went with it.

Works for me.

ps - I'm debating about making the little notch under the lip into a rear area cargo light, but haven't had time or materials to do it yet. (Run it off the unused foglight switch perhaps...)
