How To Cover Door Panels With Fabric ?

What's your favorite non-mainstream (local) band?
I think this is a simular topic as one below...but I just need to know...is there a special spray adhesive to use to attach fabric to the plastic the door panel is made of , that won't melt or ruin the panel. and not let the color of the door 'bleed' thru the fabic and ruin the fabric. I just want to cover them with some type of fabric to make it look less 'plastic' and cheap. Just a thin fabric to cover the panel and make it feel more 'expensive' for lack of a better term. It isn't gonna be leather!! Just fabric. So..is any spray adhesive safe to use...or is there a certain one that is the best?

Let me know how that works out. I have been debating the same thing but have not had the nerve to try it. Don't feel liek replacing the door panel when I mess it up. I too dislike the plastic "cheap" look of the door panels. Are you looking to do the whole panel or just pieces?

I have the 3m super 77 stuff in a spray can. I would suggest using tweed as your fabric if you are going to cover the whole door. I'm using suede for my enclosue and amp rack that matches the interior color pretty well.

I don't think that Stan surfs here anymore. :?
He had a bit of a falling out with Christian and one or two other members and maybe another moderator. :roll:
He resurfaced on Gen-Edge and lately has been asking about stereo's with hiding faceplactes and rust on his door hinges.
No mention of any other interior mods, fabric or otherwise.
