How hard?

I am in the market for a alarm system and keyless entry. I have manuel locks and have heard of something called Door Lock Actuators.

How hard of a install would it be? Are the door panels on a 02 ranger hard to get off and when I get them off are they (Door Lock Actuators) hard to put on?

You might actually already have the door lock actuators installed and just not know it. I know that was how my '97 Ranger was. It came with manual door locks, but after diggin into the doors to install power locks, I discovered they were already there and just needed to be wired up. I'm not sure if this was just a fluke or if they were like this on other Rangers, but it's definitely worth checking out if you are wanting to do this. Good luck!

I installed power windows, power locks and an alarm system with keyless entry over the course of a weekend. If you are a little mechanically inclined you can push your way through it. Just be sure you map everything out and figure out what you are going to do, so you can make sure everything is in line. My truck was out of commision the entire time.

EDIT: Mine didn't have actuators, I find that surprising that you have actuators.
