How to remove seat tracks in 99 ranger.

I picked up a pair of seats from a 2000 ranger today for 40 bucks. They are clean and in much better shape than what I have. I unbolted the seats out of my 99 ext cab and when I went to install the new seats the front bolts lined up perfect but the rears mounts didn't.

I had the understanding that any seat from a 98-current would bolt right in. So at this point I have taken to removing the seat track however I can't seem to get that off either. I'm an engine builder by trade, so I have mechanical skill. I just don't want to strip everything and start sheering off rivots if its not needed.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

As you can see from this picture, the seat track is an assembly that houses the seat adjustments, supports the seat back (hence the adjustment), and bolts to the floor.

You'll need to remove the 4 bolts that mount the track to the seat bottom. Then you'll have to remove the metal L bar that runs along the back of the seat.

the underside of the handle(s) on the adjustments, you can easily remove them from the pin that sticks through the seat track frame.

After that, you need to remove the torx bolts that are slightly under the seat-back cover. The seat will remove in two parts, the bottom and the back.

The yellow circles indicate the bolt locations that need to be removed, along with the metal cross bar and it's two bolts.

Great post STL.

So there's no rivets involved to remove the seat cushion/back off the tracks? EVerything all bolts and torx screws?

I think it has to do with reg cab and extended cab. I've looked at some other year seat from a reg cab, and they were the same as mine, but when I went to swap out some seats from an extended cab, the rear mounts were different.
