When I switched over to my FX4 shorty console it has a nice, perfectly sized slot, just next to the cup holders that holds an Ipod perfectly.

My ipod stays nice and hidden in the glove box, no reason to show off your goodies for people to steal...

When in use the cup holder, when not in the center flip down console (60/40).

Been looking for something that works though, EricRanger's idea is a good one.

I orderd this one: iPhone 3G S Custom Cigarette Lighter Socket Phone Auto Car Mount - SM283: ExtremePDA But I'm sending it back. It doesn't work as advertised. When you stick it into your cig. lighter thing and fasten it down it doesn't fasten down securely enough so when the iPhone is attached the weight of the phone f**ks it up. Product = FAIL.

I'm gonna try this one: Arkon IPM125 Flexible Steel Gooseneck Seat Bolt or Floor Mount for Apple iPhone 3G at gpscheap.com But I'm wondering if 15in is high enough to be visible while I'm driving.

The cup holder isn't going to work for me. I can't see my device display if I use the cup holder. I want to be able to use it and see it while driving (i.e. GPS, etc.).

I suggest something like this:

wedge a L bracket in b/t the radio bezel and attach it to one of those wal-mart phone holders.

^^^I like that location. Is the bracket rubbing \ scratching the dash? How about the radio bezel...is it holding up good with something wedged in between it?

I am also looking for a Iphone mount, I bought one from Canadian tire for about 20 bux and it works fine, however it uses the cig lighter as a base and I am worried that it is going to screw it up. I have been looking at a vent mount from ProClip Mounting System*-*Device Holders and Dashboard Vehicle Mounts

Has anyone tried a vent mount before if so Pros and Cons?

Cheers

still good! I put some kind of rubber thing on the other side so there is no rubbing nor rattle. so much easier to glance over and see those numbers when I'm driving.

I got my idea from that pro clip system haha

When i drove my sisters 2008 Pontiac G5 GT i had this phone holder that cliped onto the vents and it is universal and can hold any phone. It was only $15 bucks at Best Buy. I used it for a month in my Ranger its perfect to put it on speaker and it is close to your face so you can still talk and hear clear. I now got a Pioneer F700BT Navigation with bluetooth so whenever i get a call or to make a call i just do it though the navigation and it has a little microphone that clips on right beside you on the left on the celing. It works amazing and i got it in good timing to because the law in Ontaio now is you cant drive and be on the phone.

I need to find one that plugs into the 12v and sits there and charges the ipod, but has room for a headphone cord. Suggestions?

This is for a touch, so i suppose a iPhone mount should work?
