How are you connecting them together? You need to be soldering them.

What size resistor are you running?

They need to be in series in order to work correctly.

Yeah those are the ones. They should be a 510ohm 1/4watt resistor.

Only 3 LED's per resistor. After 3 you need another resistor. Series wiring too (Resistor to Anode side of led, cathode side to the next anode side of the led... so fourth).

The colors on the resistor tell you what size they are.

Leds are polarized. Long leg is positive, and the base of the led has a flat spot for negative.

Im not really sure on what your doing with your leds. Mine were direct replacements. Plugged them in to the stock bulb holders. Worked well.

There is a hot spot in the middle and the red shows up as purple.

Yes, I sanded mine to dissipate the light evenly since they were directional (round). If you ran 4 only 1 or 2 would light up and not very bright either. So yeah, 3 is the max with the resistor size you have.

You can to keep them in place. I didn't. I just soldered them to the terminals on the heater panel and it doesn't move around on me. Over a year without problems too... knock on wood lol
