New to Forum: 95 Explorer seats and console swap questions. Picts attached

Hello:
I just bought my first ranger last week. Seats are really bad. Friend has a set of 1995 Explorer Seats with console. I have seen the videos for 1996-2001 explorers but these seats are from 6/95 2 door explorer? Will they work? Pros and cons? Better options out there? I have dibs on a 2001 explorer leather seats but I have to pull them myself and it’s 2 hours away and very hot right now. They are leather but have rips.

see picture of the 1995 explorer. Oh my Ranger is a 2001 ext cab.

any advise/ comments much appreciated! I definitely want to install a console as well.

1995 donor explorer

Fit and ride of these 95 Explorer seats in 2001 ext cab Ranger?

I don't believe they would be an issue since 1995-2001 are generally considered the same. I'm not sure why the research you've done shows 1996-2001 unless they were just incorrect.

The console will for sure work but you will need to drill some holes since only the vehicles optioned for that short console will have the studs in the floor to mount the armrest pivot bracket.

I have leather seats from a 2001 Explorer Sport in my truck, and they're probably the most comfotable vehicle seats I've ever sat in. But that has alot to do with their design with the bolstering and pillow top foam. There's also lumbar support in the driver's side. I have not sat in the earlier cloth seats, so can't speak for those specific seats you're looking at.

those look really nice! I have dibs on a leather set from a 2001 Explorer. Nice, but a little different than yours…

Depending on which seats they are, you can get replacement covers but they aren't very cheap. I replaced the lower driver's side on mine and it was a little under $100 for the cover. They don't offer the upper covers for my seats, but luckily mine aren't in that bad of shape.
