new seats

i got two power leather mountaineer seats and a center console from a 2000 mountaineer for 75 bucks and was wondering if they were a direct bolt in or if i have to drill holes for the console. also i was wondering the best way to get corroded and rusted bolts out without drilling because i just sheared my torx bit trying to get them loose.

You will need to drill a couple of holes for the coneole and the seats should be a direct bolt, but you will have to do some wiring for them to work.

You will need to open up the mounting holes on one of the front seat track openings (can't remember which one, right or left) on the Explorer/Mountaineer seats to accept the larger Ranger seat bolts, but besides that it's a direct swap.

nope....he has an extended cab, the seat tracks are a direct bolt in.....the only thing that will have to be swapped/modded is the lower seat belt bracket because the Explorer/Mountaineer part is shorter than a Ranger's....

yup...I also have an extended cab. One of the bolt holes on the front of the seat base (where it bolts into the floor) DO require opening up a bit at lease in my case. The Explorer I got my leather/power seats from (a 2001 model with FX interior code seats) used a slight smaller bolt on one location (one of the fronts) than what the four that came from my stock Ranger buckets. The other 3 on each seat were the same as my Ranger bolts. Some years may be different, I'm not sure. Other than that, besides the seat belt bracket as Lifted97Ranger mentioned it is a direct bolt in. When you swap on the seat belt bracket, use a high quality bolt. I used Grade 8 stainless and a nylon lock washer. Overkill is a good idea here.

must be a case to case bases.....mine bolted directly in......no modification to the Explorer seat brackets what so ever.......

rusted bolts

I used cold chisel and hammer to knock loose my seatbelt bolts, weren't quite as rusty looking as yours. Spray with break free penetratring oil or whatever, whack head of bolt with hammer and chisel in counter clockwise direction, apply wrench with cheater bar. If, no luck wait a few hours and try again, day after day.
