New way to mount a CB

Hey guys i finally got my CB today and iwas sitting there looking for somewhere to mount it and i thought that i could mount it on the passenger side of the transmision hump pionting up. My question is would it be ok to screw those little screws into the floor.

Ive been thinking about putting mine underneath the bench seat part in the middle, and reworking the face plate to flip around and point up. Don't know exactly how I'd do that though, so I'm currently still stuck with mine velcro-ed to the dash haha

Ya...if they're small automotive screws they'll just sink into the carpet and pad.
If you're looking to go into sheet metal then make sure there are no lines underneath is all.

I want one of those too... if theres still room inside my dash (I've already got the XM reciever and some other things stuffed in there) I'll put it there and keep the handset in my glovebox, and open the glovebox and pull it out when I need it.

One other thing on the cb, I have a cobra 29 ltd classic that I had when I drove a truck for a while and I put it in my ranger. I took out my jack and storage box. I got an adjustable cb bracket and mounted it with the screws from the storage box. So I have mine behind my passengers seat and it faces my direction. All I've got to do is reach right there and turn it on. It sits right where I can see it.

actually, its not a bulky box its AT MOST 1.5" x 1.5" x 5" .....and then the mike plugs directly into the unit. if you buy one new, it comes with a grommet so you can drill a hole in where ever you are mounting it, and keep a nice clean install.... i have one, but im not using it currently. i have a uniden with a 35watt swing kit inside it, and a PA system. thats why im not using my cobra. the cobra is for more of a hidden unit, for minimal use (not that i use mine that much!). here are some pics.......

this is where it is currently mounted:

where it used to be:

i may convert back to my cobra, if so, the mike will be mounted here next to my phone
