Newer Style Stering wheels?

well i dont like mine and the fact that on my airbag it says mazda...=gay i have a ranger and want a FORD emblem there....would the newer style steering wheels bolt right up??

if your steering wheel says Mazada on it then someone changed it.......or someone was on POT that put it in at the factory.........they would bolt right up, but you would need to get the airbag also.........

i know about the airbag...but it says mazda because the guy that rebuilt my truck i guess didnt have a ford one so he slapped a mazda one in there...ghey.....lol

so your truck has a rebuilt title then? were you the one who owned it when it was rebuilt? if you are then you should've said something when you took it back...

no it was rebuilt by this guy in north ga he specializes in rebuilding totaled rangers then they are state inspected and given a clear title...

nice...........i dont see how they can legally give it a clear title after it has been totaled.....if that was the case, then all those Katrina vehicles could have a clean title........if that is true, the next vehicles i buy WILL come with a Carfax and a call to the previous owner....

we bought my truck knowing it was previously totaled....nothing was hidden...it was only 9200 for a 01 4wd with power everything and 57k miles on it....

that is nuts..........totally wrong in many ways too.....i can't believe they do that........o well.... just get you a new airbag off ebay.....they come right out with a couple screws...

hold on i found my old carfax report that i saved on my external hdd...maybe it wasnt totaled maybe it was in a minor crash...gimme a sec..

cool....i bet it was a minor crash.......i dont think they are allowed legally to resale a totaled vehicle with a clear title, unless the guy who sold it was the legal owner when it was recked....if the insurance ever takes possession of a vehicle then it will have a salvage title...

the reason they marked severe was because the radiator was busted....undriveable..

so back on topic, how hard would this be to do, becaues id like to get one of the newer leather wraped ones... and could i add cruise control? or does that require some sort of module?

not hard.....i believe there is 4 screws that hold the air bag in on the sides of the wheel behind the cruise control switches(there is 2 little pop off covers and the screws are set inside the wheel..), then you will need a steering wheel puller to pop it off the column.......then just unplug any electric connections and re-install in reverse order....
