Noise coming from dash?!?!?

Hey everyone, I've had a little problem latley...

Everytime I turn on my a/c or anything like that a noise comes from it seems to be the passenger part of the dash. It used to not be this bad of a sounds, but now it is just simply annyoing. I have to turn the radio all the way up just to not be able to hear it.

But if anybody has any info on what the problem is/may be that would be awesome!

Brenton

It could also be part of the A/C system, one of the actuators to let air either out the dash vents or floor vents or defroster. I had a 2002 Windstar recently that would make a really bad clicking sound when going from heat to cold, until i replaced the solenoid, I advised that the setting be in the middle range because it was quiet then...

Is it like a ticking, or a clicking noise.....That gets faster as you turn up the speed of the air coming out??

Exactly, & both heat & air still work though!

probably a leaf stuck in the fan, or somewhere else in the system. I had the same problem, but after about ten minutes it apparently dislodged itself in favor of a less noisy part of my HVAC system.

The blower fan is easy enough to remove - four screws and a plug connector. If you have cruise you will have to move the CC servo out of the way, too - one bolt and a connector.

Once the blower is out, it will be easy to see if you have leaves or pine needles or mice in there. Be careful to not damage the blower resistor coils inside the box to the DS of the blower.

That's not mine but I did have an 88 Escort Wagon that sat for long periods time when I was driving company vehicles. Mice somehow got inside the rear trim panels and made a home similar to the picture. They took the liberty of traveling through the rocker panels to the front and ripped a lot of the stuffing out of the front seats to build it. Then the nasty little bastards died during the winter. In the spring, I had to rip the entire interior out and clean everything to get rid of the smell (more or less).

Underhood passenger side firewall box. The blower is an assembly consisting of parts 5 & 6
