Dash woes (Speedo and Gear Selector)
Hi guys,
I've been really tearing into the truck lately. Half shafted the throttle body shaft, grinded down the throttle stopper for a true WOT, cut and grinded the MAF inside of the extra metal, and cleaned out the gunk in the IAC/Throttle body (man, that stuff was REALLY built up).
Now, I need assistance.
1. My speedometer is 10 MPH MORE than what I am actually going. It got messed up since I installed the Explorer Sport Trac gauges. I remember seeing a post about a member on here using a battery to calibrate the Speedo (He connected two wires to two pins on the back of the dash, and the needle shot up to a number, he mentioned this is where you can adjust the speedo if needed). I cannot find the post anywhere, I think it was a conversion to LED post or something. Any help on what two pins to hook up the battery to?
EDIT: Wow, I clicked a link on accident and it turned out it was the post I was referring to for the speedo problem! https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...ad.php?t=74062
2. For the Gear Selector...I don't know how I made this one happen. When I am in reverse, and let off the brake pedal...I hear a clicking sound from the dash. Someone on RPS told me to adjust the pin underneath the truck, it didn't really help (well, it used to click in every gear before I tried his advice). The pin that shows what gear you are in is a bit off too, and I know it has something to do with it (It used to be show you were in Reverse, when you were actually in DRIVE!) Any idea how I can adjust this?
Any help would be appreciated, now that I am out of the Navy I am now able to fix what I messed up 5 years ago!
