Overhead console/ compass

Has anyone done the overhead console with compass and temp digital screen conversion yet into their ranger? If so did it require any drilling or is their a way to clamp/glue it to the ceiling?

i think 80% of these guys have done it...u would need to do drilling..u can glue anythign because the overhead console has clips that has to be cliped in the bracket ..

Do a search for "explorer OHC" and you'll get a TON of threads.

Did any of the Explorer OHC's come with Door Openers? I asked once on another forum & was told that they did not.

If any of them did come with door openers, what years should I look for?

I know there are replacement rear view mirrors that include Door Openers (http://www.mitocorp.com/flash/homeli...ingmirrors.htm), & I thought that I would have to go that route, but getting an OHC with the Opener would be a lot cheaper than what the mirrors with Openers go for new.

Our new Mariner has the Ford accessory rear view mirror with the auto-dimming feature and the small digital compass and temp on the bottom side of it. It is very neat and compact looking and if I had to do it over again, I would have got one of those instead of the Explorer OHC for my Ranger. Oh well, it's in there for good now.

You can also find an explorer with the homelink on the sun visors. Thats what I put in mine. It has the dual visors with lighted mirror, homelink and voice recorder.
