Alright i was looking into installing the explorer overhead console in my ranger. The only problem i have is my ranger has a sunroof, and i am not sure whether or not there is enough roof space to mount the console on. Also is it mounted on a curved or flat area of the roof? I could not tell by the pictures how large the unit was so i am unsure if it will work. If anyone has mounted it with the sunroof please let me know, or if you have any suggestions.

 

get the one that is ment for sunroof explorers... and it mounts between the visors....

 

rockin robin had his mounted with sunroof..i belive..

make sure you get harness..mounting bracket, and temp sensor

 

Ya i was going to look at the junkyard, but i bet those models are harder to find, i was intending on buying everything for it as a kit maybe off of ebay

 

actually i keep finding the sunroof all the time idk why...

All i am finding is ones with a sunroof control, not an actual unit for the sunroof models, the ones with the controls are the same size, could you put a link of one for sunroof models if you find one. Thanks

 

Actually it is stock, It was a 2001 SunSport Package, i think ford only did it for one year. Has a special sticker on the tailgate and everything.

 

I have sunroof console shells available. If you can't find a sunroof one, I can probably supply you with one. Not sure what colors I have though. Probably a blue shell and a tan one, maybe a grey one, don't remember. You still need to get al the other parts and I don't have the proper mounting bracket for it. A cut down standard bracket will work though.
