This is the responce I got from the seller on Ebay. He is from Canada so I would prefer to deal from him as I don't have to pay for Duty etc.

"i have afew of these older and newer i think the only diference is the mount panel, they re different for sunroof and non sunroof other then that i think they re the same up to 2001, better do your research to see if they ll fit an 06.
what do u need exactly, color,do u need temp. sensor , mount bracket?
let me know.
Thanks."

From what I am understanding from you guys is that I should go with one between a 98 - 01 and one that comes from a non sunroof. Is this right? thanks everyone! --BOB--

I checked out the assembly that was posted. That wiring stuff kinda freaks me a bit. I wonder if there is somewhere I could take my truck to and get this done. I don't want to catch my truck on fire or something. I also don't want to fry my cd player by cutting and spicing wires to my sound system. This seems kinda beyond what I want to do by myself. Any comments as to where I could get this done? Thanks again BOB!!

The 98~2001 Ex used a green display, 95~97 were blue. Either type will work but I think your stock 06 gauge illumination is green.

The non-sunroof version is easier to mount but both kinds have been successfully adapted to Rangers.

It should fit assuming that Ford didn't change the headliner or the framework of the cab. I don't know if this mod has been done to an 06 yet. Anyone?

Are the sunroof an non sunroof the same consols? is there one that has a place for sunglasses like the f 150s or do they only come with garage door openers?

I am not sure about the colour display green or blue I will check tonight. Also I believe the headliners the same. I looked at a used 03 at the dealership a couple of days ago and it looks identicle to mine.

Thanks again guys.....BOB!!!

The Ex sunroof model has the sunroof switch in a fixed panel that doesn't open. The non-sunroof model has a hinged panel that opens to accept a garage door opener.

Let me get this straight, the most difficult step in this mod is not drilling through the roof and not making the hole too big in the headliner. If this is the case I think this might be something I should attempt in my 2006.

You make it sound like its an easy thing. If you mess it up you either one have to buy a new headliner or two have to repair the roof and repaint the roof.

I did say the most difficult. I would be sweating bullets until the last hole was drilled and the liner was finished.
