Radios - OEM - CD6 Pioneer vs Std Unit
Radios - OEM - CD6 Pioneer vs Std Unit
hey,
I have a Pioneer CD6 Radio from an ‘01Ranger XLT, it came with front speakers with a tweeter and a mid Ranger (I think).
How do they differ from the std CD6 that I have in my ’03 EDGE.
I have heard there should have been an amp in the rear left of the Ex but I will check on monday if it is still there.
Were the rear speakers different ?
Will the speakers alone work better than the OEM ones in my EDGE with a std CD6 ?

Anyone have any ideas if an 01 Pioneer CD6 is any better than the 03 CD6, would lie it would be ?
The 03 CD6 has a Digital Readout of all of the songs playing, so I think it has a digital radio setup, again not sure.
I do like the speakers, those alone should be better than std speakers.

Do you have the digital readout of the station and song, title and artist ?
My ’03 has it but you have to turn it on within the menu.
The unit looks just like my Black one and I was thinking they might be the same, wonder what you get if you pay the extra money on a Pioneer Unit ?
Thks

My '07 has the Pioneer CD6 in it, but it doesn't have the digital readout of the station/song... from what I've found in the settings anyways. Do they both play MP3's? That's the only time I have titles on mine, it just shows the file name.
On my std CD6 I had to turn it on.
I don’t remember the menu item it was under but it was not by itself.
Once you turned on “something” the naming/titles came on too.
I will try to look at the menu system in my radio and see what it is called.

I'll have to check mine out... I've never really went thru all the menus or options in it. I had my MP3 cds showing the song titles but now they won't and I can't remember how to get it to work again!
Mine doesnt display song names it just says like "Track 1" and it does display station like "98.5" It doesnt display the name of the station. I havent found anything in the menu for that either or maybe i havent looked hard enough.
I have a “RDS ON/OFF” turn it on and I get a lot of other info items.
I even get s Traffic thing as “ON”.
Remember this is only when the FM Radio is on, not the iPOD.
Does anyone know for sure, if the inners of the Pioneer is any different than the CD6 ?

Going to sell the Silver Faced CD-6, it is part of a Pioneer Stereo System but I do not have the amp but so have four 6x8 speakers that came with the radio.
The front speakers are component coxial and the rears look like std speakr with coverings but they came out of the ’01 Ex-Sport.
