I just got a stock CD6 six disc mp3 radio from 04blackedge (thanks ).

The unit is in shipping mode and I cannot figure how to get it out of shipping mode. I have searched online for about 15 mins with no luck.

Anyone know how to do this?

 

It says it on top of the stereo, its a sticker.

I just realized I told you the wrong way in the PM.

Turn the key to ACC or RUN.
Turn the audio unit on.
Press and hold the LOAD button for approximately 2 seconds.
The audio unit will enter loading mode, at which time the shipment mode will be exited.
Turn the audio unit off.

I stopped in at the Ford dealer and told them what the problem was and they looked at me as if I was on crack. hahahaha.

 

okay,so no luck still. Still says slots full. The cd changer makes noises when I hold the Load button, but when I press eject or load again it just says slots full.

 

Oh so you did get it out of shipment mode. Did you try holding down the load or eject buttons?

 

no I haven't got it out of shipping mode...well,I don't think so anyways. There's no cd's in it but it says SLOTS FULL when I press eject. It won't let me insert any cd's either.

It doesnt say anything on the display to say it's been taken out of shipping mode.

 

Pull the radio back out and read what the sticker on the top says, I know it says it on there.

 

yeah I was going to do it tonight bt then the weather got all crappy, so i'll do it tomorrow morning.

Also,when I hit the Menu button to change the bass/treble/fade/balance etc, it will select the different settings but I can't adjust them with the arrows?? And I can't set the clock either. I pulled out my dad's owner's manual for the 08 and looked up the CD6 section and I don't know what I'm doing wrong lol.
