Removing the Passenger Airbag..

Removing the Passenger Airbag..

how do i take out the passengerside airbag? i need to remove it so i can wrap the cover, then put it back into the dash. anyone know how to remove it??? thanks for any response!

Be SURE to remove the negative battery cable. Then I think you just drop down the glovebox using the little tab/buttons on the side, and you can get at it that way. If i remember it just bolts in and out. I think there might be something about this in the EATC install on John Griggs' cardomain.

Just two bolts and a two-wire connector.

thanks guys.. yeah apparently i want to disconnect the neg. bat. terminal, let it sit for 5-10 mins, then take out those 2 bolts underneith, and slide it out. bob, that two wire connector you just mentioned.. im assumming they're just clips or plugs, something like that? nothing hardwired in or anything that wouldn't allow me to fully remove it, right?

It disconnects in a manner similar to other plug connectors on the truck. Be very certain that everything is powered down completely before touching any restraints components.

Should there be any concern with a wrap impeding proper deployment of the airbag?

I am uncomfortable with the idea of airbags being modified in any way.
