Here's mine. I used a different kind of paint, it has sparkles. hahahha. I don't like the console being blue, its too much IMO. I'll spray that black sometime, the little pimples on the console are from me using the wrong screws that were to long.

I was thinking about doing a sparkle blue just like that. Doesn't look as good as I thought it would though, too textured looking. Probably looks better in person.

Yeah the flash on the camera made it look textured like that, it was to dark in my garage to not use the flash though. Its nice and smooth though.

What are you looking for?

http://www.carpartswholesale.com/

I'd try and get a hold of them to see what they can do for a price on the Stainless Steel overlay like mine for your HVAC.

Or you could get one of the APC white face ones off eBay.

Or a silver Sport HVAC out of an Expo... Most likely off eBay.

I had a expo one a while ago, it wouldn't fit on my 04. The connectors wouldn't plug in the back for some reason.

I wonder how the metalcast would look over other colors since all it really is is just a basic candy paint.

Could look pretty cool depending on how it's applied. I used that Metalcast to red out my tail lights, but I used the ground coat Metalcast on my bezel before applying the red.

Are you talking about trying to make it change colours or something? They have that Mystify paint. That stuff is pretty cool.

Used it on my old Contour. Green/purple. Kinda crappy dark pic though.

No, I'm talking about candy paint which is what Metalcast is. All candy is is just a translucent paint that you paint over another backing color. Doing red candy over black is popular and is called black cherry or something like that.

hmmm..that would definetly look sweet.

You should paint your truck with the Black Chrome over your red.

Because I had to repaint it, I ended up removing all of the paint right down to the bare plastic. I sanded the entire bezel and cleaned it up as good as I could and then I layed down the Metalcast Ground Coat. I let that dry and then wetsanded it to get out some of the little bumps and crap that were in the paint. I did about 3 coats of Ground Coat, wetsanding each one to make it smooth. After I applied the colour and the clear, I did not sand any of it and it came out really nice and shiny as you can see.
