What parts are interchangable with Explorer?

Hi everyone, I've browsed and searched this site so much that my wife is thinking I'm crazy but I'm curious what is interchangable with the Explorer?

I have a 1998 Ford Ranger XLT 2 Door Extended cab and have been visiting Junk Yards quite a bit since I'm out of work so this would be very helpful if ya'll chimed in.

Here is my list thus far that I've confirmed on this site:

Confirmed:
  • Overhead Console - OHC
  • Instrument Panel Plastic Surround
  • Instrument Cluster
  • Sun Visors
  • Auto Dimming Mirror
  • Glove box
  • Drivers and Passenger side Vents
  • Dome Lights
  • Radio Bezels
  • Center Consoles

Questionable?:

95+ front suspension and brakes is the same as a 98+ ranger with torsion bars(2wd or 4wd)...

ALOT of the interior will...the entire dash, seats, leaf springs(not interchangeable in ride height though), many engine parts, the rear disc brakes will bolt onto a Fx4 31spline Ranger, windshield, engines, transmissions, rear ends with some welding, emblems, wipers...

virtually from the front seats forward will work on a 98+ ranger, minus the sheetmetal and doorpanels.

Well I found an OHC in willow green and also dual lighted sun visors and a dome light. I think I may go back and get the dome light. The visors were rained on and the OHC was a sunroof motor.

Well I went and looked and the A pillar seem much longer than the Ranger. So I didn't buy it. But I did call the dealer and they said a new one would be $30 bucks.

ford's been changing there pricing on a lot of parts lately... I got a bunch of parts cheap as of late.

I thought the A pillar plastics were a different lenght do door being a different length.

I bet the seat belts are the same too...

Why don't you start a new thread. The last post in this one was 2009.

I can say from experience the explorer seats do fit the ranger but the seat slide brackets have to be changed for the ranger ones I put a set of powered seats from an explorer into a 1999 ranger and it wasnt hard
