Pull the headliner back a bit and run a 1.5in bolt up there... We did shanes and I think we used a 1.5in self tapper... Ask Shane.. Mine isn't in my way either, Cord hangs down but that's about it... I run the cord behind it and to the side where the mic is mounted so it doesn't hang down in the middle.

Josh, just so you know... Not tryin to shoot you down... Twin sticks (CB) will actually hurt your reception.

yeah, I have an old ext speaker. It was sitting between my shorty console and the miniconsole that went around my shifter (it fit perfect), but its all ripped apart right now bc I am figuring out how I want to make my shifter go right to the carpet and get rid of the miniconsole.

I have my ham radio mounted under the pass seat position bar with some zippy ties. I stay on one freq all the time, so I don't really need to interact with the radio at all.

i have to disagree, i pick up folks from I-595 and I-75 to 826 down in miami, about a 35-40 mile distance, and no problem picking people up on i-95 which is about 10 miles away, way better reception then my k40 roof mounted, i also have an exteior loud speaker located behind the driver fog light

Just thought I'd update on mine since I moved my mic up from off the radio cuz it was kind of a ***** to get around the shifter while driving

Just screwed the little retainer clip behind the plastic trim around the hvac controls

I really like that. If I had it to do all over again and had another car to drive while the truck is torn apart. It looks real clean like that.

What Trevor was trying to tell you was that the dual antennas will degrade transmitter, not reception. For dual antenna to work they must be "phased" or at cb freqs, 11 meters apart which is impossible on a vehicle. Ever wonder why you don't see ham operators with dual antennas?

Yeah, its plenty loud enough. They even make CBs that have front mounted speakers. I am sure that would work even better.

I should be getting it whenever I convert my dash to blue LEDs, which should be soon once jp7 gets back to me on bulbs.
