MINNESOTA Ice Meet (let's get this right)

Minnesota Guys! it's time we started deciding on a Lake to meet on this january/February 2011. After an "Incident" 2 years ago, many of us have felt the need to find a more "Remote" lake. If any of you know of a lake that would be fun to have a meet on, without being hassled by the cops or a lot of people, let us know!
We started these "Ice meets" back in 2007, with a relatively good turn out.
Anyone is welcome, more info will be added as the weeks/months pass.

see you on the Ice!

If anyone knows of a great lake thats away from the twin cities, where we could all meet, let us know about it!
we used to go to a lake in Andover and it's just too close to the city and the cops intervened a few years back

Anyone know anything about Grass Lake? Seems a bit more off the beaten path (no major roads), but still decently close to the Cities.

Grass Lake, Ramsey, MN - Google Maps

Or maybe Rogers Lake. North of Round Lake (place we did the last couple years).

as long as the lake we choose is OFF the beaten path, meaning not right on a major highway.
we don't need our day ruined by the countie mounties

I'd love to come, but depending on when it is.

not sure if the truck is going to be that dependable for driving that far.

didn't you just drop in a 5.0??
why is it, people will put THOUSANDS of miles on their trucks over the course of a month or more and think nothing of it, BUT they won't drive a thousand miles because thy are afraid their truck "won't make it" ?

Because if you make 100 ten mile trips and your truck takes a ****, you are never more then 10 miles from home.

oh and driving a thousand miles in one trip puts a lot of fatigue on moving parts.

because i drive less than a mile to my work, and i'm limping it there right now, i never posted that i dropped in freshly rebuilt 5.0 or anything like that, i have things i need to replace on it yet, i've only been driving it this week. thats the first time i've drove since june.

it should be good to go soon, its actually at the shop today to get my driveshafts worked on and theres 2 other minor problems and things i need to work out, because if i don't, they can turn into major problems.

either way. if i'm able i'll try to head out there depending when and work, i've been getting stuck working 4-close every weekday and working saturdays too. so not 100% sure yet.

yeah anything in feb or later would be cool.

as long as we get a place and time figured out long before hand so people can take off and not make plans!
