1998 Ford Ranger 4.0 driver side floor water leak
1998 Ford Ranger 4.0 driver side floor water leak
My 98 XLT leaks water when it rains on D/S floor and I just don't know the source of the leak, what are common leaks with these trucks.
Any ideas would help.
Thank you in advance.

Believe it or not the 3rd brake light on the top back of the cab is the usual suspect
Because the Rangers are usually higher in the rear and tend to lean to the side of the gas tank, drivers front floor is wear the leaked water ends up
Can also be windshield lower corner leak, less common but there is a valley that runs around the windshield, its what the trim molding is in, water pools in the lower corners, and can cause it to rust thru and the water leaks into the cab on that side, if you look up under the dash on that side with a flash light you can usually see water/mineral trails of where the water was coming down

Ron, the valley that runs around the windshield sounds suspicious, the water seems to puddle/concentrate right below where the heel part of my left foot would rest when driving.
Thanks for the reply.

The way the roof and it's supports run across the back and along the sides, water leaking from the 3rd brake light also drips down by the parking brake pedal
Best plan, wait for a dry day, dry out the floor as best you can
Put a hose on windshield, just let it run slowly down the windshield, on drivers side, for a bit
(if no hose is available use container with water and pour it on windshield, repeat)
Feel the floor if it getting wetter then windshield is the leak point
If its NOT getting wetter then 3rd brake light is the leak point
