2001 ranger xlt 2.3 replaced timing cover due to a wobbly fan pulley
Hi i replaced my timing cover due to a wobbly fan pulley that was the only way to get the part most part stores think im asking for the water pump pulley that is off set on my truck. So i replaced what i needed now the truck cranks but wont start never had that problem ever. I checked my fuel pump its working i sprayed starter fuild to start it no luck help pleade i also checked the cut off switch it was fine.
Welcome to the forum
There is a Crank sensor on the front cover, it reads the crank pulley's spin and times the spark and fuel injectors
Look for it and make sure its wires were plugged back in
The crank sensor pulse/signal is the ONLY WAY the computer even knows you are trying to start the engine

The crank sensor can be timed to the crank pulley/trigger wheel, count 9 teeth counter clockwise from the trigger gap, and set the crank sensor center-line in line with the center of the 9th tooth. The crank sensor trigger will usually have a mold/cast line across the center to aide in this. New sensors should come with a special tool that aligns the trigger.
